Years ago, I accidently saw Leonard Cohen on Austin City Limits and fell in love with him and his music. Luckily for me, my sister and her husband didn't and asked me to tape it, so I do have about 1/2 hour of his music on vcr. I went out and bought two of his cassettes and played them to death (I copied them from the original so I'd always have a back up.)
Time moves on, and things change. Just this past week I started listening to his music again and have found some new stuff that I adore. Now I'm hooked again. He is such a fantastic singer and no matter what comes out of his mouth, I love it. I wish that my friends appreciated his music as well, but not everyone knows good music when they hear it. Anyways, stumbled upon this site and thought I would join. Valerie ![]() |

I first stumbled upon Leonard Cohen as a poet. I found a book of old poems in a secondhand book shop. Then I realized that I loved a lot of his songs by other artists ("Bird on a Wire" by Joe Cocker/"Suzanne" by Judy Collins). Then I, too, found the new stuff.
I wrote about a lot of this at a website called JamsBio, where you can share your music memories. Anybody can read my music memories at www.JamsBio.com/user/dtricarico. Please leave a reply here or a comment there and let me know what you think. Thanks! |
